The SAfA 2818 Conference website was designed and is hosted by the Turkana Basin Institute (TBI).
TBI facilitates scientific research in Kenya’s Lake Turkana Basin through its two facilities on the east and west side of Lake Turkana, providing infrastructure, personnel, and logistical support to scientists working in the region.
TBI also runs a number of field education programs in the Turkana Basin. Please visit KenyaStudyAbroad.org for information about our programs:

The Organizing Committee is pleased to announce the acceptance of 21 symposium proposals. Of these, 19 symposia are open to additional contributions. To help SAfA members find a symposium most relevant to their work, the Third Circular presents titles and abstracts for these symposia, along with names and email addresses for their organizers. We invite you to contact the symposium organizers and discuss your ideas for a contributing paper. To allow a thoughtful exchange of ideas, it is best to do this well in advance of the December 1 abstract submission deadline. Please see the Third Circular for full details on symposium topics and submission procedures.
Symposium organizers have the right to evaluate the relevance of prospective papers to their symposium theme. If a submitted abstract is not closely linked to the symposium topic, or if the symposium is already full, symposium organizers may ask the Organizing Committee to place the paper in a general session with a suitable topic. The Organizing Committee will make every effort to construct general sessions with well-defined themes that draw attendance and stimulate discussion.
To submit your abstract to a symposium, please email the completed Abstract Submission Form to all of Organizers listed for your prospective symposum; also be sure to cc the Organizing Committee (email@example.com). The subject line of your email should give the first author surname, the symposium code, and the symposium keyword, e.g., “Umer et al. for PA-01, Plio-Pleist”.
If you are submitting your abstract for inclusion in a general session, please email the completed Abstract Submission Form to the Organizing Committee (firstname.lastname@example.org). The subject line of your email should give the first author surname and general session, e.g., “Sangare et al. for General Session”.
